She also worked as a research assistant for UNB Law’s Dr. Karen Pearlston on the subjects of homosexual rights and disability rights. Always one for a well-rounded world view, Lex concurrently researched legal remedies and intellectual property issues for Norman Siebrasse.
Lex has a history of charitable activity that leads her to connect with clients’ passions. During law school, Lex volunteered for the New Brunswick Nature Trust through Pro Bono Students Canada, co-chaired the LGBT+ law students’ society (OUT Law), and took on a number of mentorship roles. While studying English at UCalgary, she won a volunteer award for her time given to a women’s resource centre, served in organizations aiding students seeking employment, fundraised for Cancer through a major Canadian charity, raised money for the Calgary Food Bank, and formally mentored teenagers in her community.
